These plants have typically frilly, hairy aromatic leaves. They show large, flat clusters of small flowers at the top of the stem. You will see that these flowers are generally visited by many insects.

Did you know?

The genus was named after the Greek mythological character Achilles. According to legend, Achilles’ soldiers used yarrow to treat their wounds, hence some of its common names such as allheal and bloodwort.

Care tips

Cut the stems, remove all the foliage that will end up below the water line and place them in a vase with water. Gently loosen the tight bunches to improve air-circulation.
