Elizabeth Newcombe has been through rigorous training since entering the WorldSkills UK squad. At twenty-one years of age, Elizabeth won her place in TeamUK at the team selection held in April. She will represent the UK in the most prestigious floristry young persons’ competition in the World. Florismart is very proud to sponsor Elizabeth throughout her extensive training.
WorldSkills | 22-27 August
The competition will take place in Kazan on 22-27 August 2019. The 45th WorldSkills Competition will bring together more than 1,400 young professionals. These young professionals represent 63 countries and regions, who will compete in 56 skills.
Elizabeth’s process as a floral designer and competitor are well recorded. She won a Medallion of Excellence at EuroSkills in Budapest. On top of that, she won a gold medal and was crowned RHS Chelsea Young Florist of the Year at the esteemed RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May this year.
Accompanying Elizabeth on her journey to Kazan will be Laura Leong: WorldSkills UK Floristry Training Manager. We wish them both the best of luck for the competition.
Florismart | Proud sponsor
We are very proud to support and sponsor Elizabeth throughout her WorldSkills training.
Elizabeth: “My working day whilst training consists of practicing 2 to 3 designs every day in preparation for what we may get asked to make in Kazan. Each design has to be completed within the allocated time which can range from 1 hour 30 minutes to 3 hours.”
“I would like to thank Florismart for their very generous sponsorship throughout my training and their continuous support for WorldSkills UK. Florismart has sponsored quality flowers and foliage that have been delivered to my home address. This has allowed me to practice designs on a regular basis to prepare for the WorldSkills Competition.”
